Mala Nath, DO
A Florida native, Dr. Nath was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL. She graduated as a knight from the University of Central Florida and went on to attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL, where she graduated in 2021. Upon graduating, she underwent her family medicine residency training at Manatee Memorial Hospital from 2021-2024. Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she is experienced in understanding the health needs of the community and is dedicated to serving her patients accordingly. She saw an amazing opportunity in direct primary care to incorporate her personal touch in medicine and proudly joined Dr. Gero at Aspire DPC in August 2024. In addition to full spectrum family medicine, Dr. Nath is also trained in OMT which is a hands-on treatment method. Doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) use OMT to treat mechanical pain (muscle, tendon or bone pain due to structural imbalance) and a wide range of health conditions. Dr. Nath can use OMT to diagnose and prevent disease and help your body function better. Using several OMT techniques, Dr. Nath applies gentle pressure to manipulate the muscles, soft tissues and joints. The treatment encourages your body to heal itself by ensuring that your bones and muscles are aligned and balanced properly. Michele L. Gero, MD
Originally from rural northern New York, she graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University Syracuse, NY, in 2001. She completed her internship and residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY from 2001-2004 and was chief resident her final year there. After practicing in Connecticut for 7 years, she moved to Florida and worked for a corporation from 2011 to 2018. In 2019, she wanted to give more to her patients and reclaim her passion for medicine by transitioning to direct primary care.

WHY DPC?
“The type of medicine I experienced as a child growing up was similar to direct primary care. It was the delivery of medicine in that model and the connection between my family physician and his patients, that led me into a career as a doctor. My goal as a physician is to always put my patients first. Caring for them is my honor and privilege. I want them to have all the time they need during appointments and get all their concerns and questions answered. I couldn’t achieve this in a traditional office where the visits are limited and dictated by insurance rules and regulations.
